The fixture list for the 2022/23 Premier League season have finally been announced.
This season’s competition follows a slightly altered format, owing mainly to the fact that the 2022 FIFA World Cup will take place between the end of November and most of December.
As a result of this, the league season will begin a little bit earlier in August, with fewer games packed in around Christmas, but with large chunks of the season being taken up at later dates.
These fixtures and their respective timings are subject to change. The fixtures can change as a result of TV scheduling, European dates and progression in the two domestic cups.
This season, Arsenal will be playing in the UEFA Europa League, where they are joined by Manchester United. These games will begin in September, as will the League Cup, followed by the FA Cup in January.

Arsenal are, once again, handed the indignity of kicking off the Premier League campaign as they did last season, though Mikel Arteta and his men will hope for a better showing this time around.
The club’s first north London derby will be on matchday nine at the Emirates Stadium, with the return fixture taking place in the middle of January.
October and April seem to be the months that offer the hardest challenges for the Gunners this season. Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester City all stuffed into one month is not an ideal situation for the club, especially come April where they face away fixtures against the latter two as well as a trip to West Ham and a visit from Chelsea.
However, owing no doubt to the fact that they play their opening game away from home, the club will close the curtain on the whole campaign with a visit from Wolves at the end of May.
For Arsenal’s sake, they will hope to have next season’s European football (if any) all sewn up long before then. The race for 4th ran all the way down to the wire last season and Arsenal will be keen to avoid a repeat this season.
Arsenal will no doubt be pushing for a top four spot, but will also focus their efforts on winning the Europa League, which also offers a place in next season’s Champions League.
This season also sees a very welcome change in the form of five substitutions. Though previously allowed when club football restarted after the COVID-19 pandemic, the idea has finally been implemented permanently.
